IMPORTANT - New Standards for Carbon Monoxide Alarms
Mavor & Company takes seriously tenant’s safety in your properties. As of 1st October 2013 there is a new legal requirement that a carbon monoxide alarm must be fitted when a new gas heating appliance is installed, however under best practice we advise that all rental properties have a CO alarm installed.
Therefore from 1st December 2013 we plan to fit a CO alarm in each of our managed properties at a cost to the landlord of £45 including VAT and as standard we will test all CO alarms at all regular inspections, smoke alarms are already tested at these times. Winter and heating: Keeping your property covered
As the weather is now changing and tenants are turning on their heating, our number one call out during the winter is for faulty heating systems. We have teamed up with our recommended contractor GasGlow to offer annual maintenance cover to include all call outs, parts and labour and an annual service including your landlord’s gas safety check all for only £220 including VAT.

Council of Letting Agents and Mavor & Company
The Council of Letting Agents (CLA) was launched at the Letting Agency Conference on the 10th October 2013. It has been formed as part of the Scottish Association of Landlords (SAL) to represent all agents across Scotland to strive to achieve high standards across the entire private rented sector; we are delighted to announce that Pat Mavor has been selected as a member of the CLA Steering Group.
The Scottish Government will announce next month that all letting agents will have to be regulated, however Mavor & Company are already fully regulated as members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and therefore offer our landlords full client money protection.
Aberdeen Office
Mavor & Company has recently expanded into the North East with a new branch in Aberdeen.
